Trying to hold the bag upright with one hand, while holding a large pot/pan with one hand to pour, often times is impossible to maneuver. Helpful Hand Stand is a plastic, portable stand that enables its users to store food items neatly and efficiently without the assistance of another person or hand.

How It Works: With Helpful Hand Stand in the open or X-shaped position, a food handler would first attach a food storage or freezer bag, typically a zip-lock style bag, to the clips, then proceed to add food for storage, unclip bag, zip bag to create air tight seal and store for later consumption.

Design Considerations: Helpful Hand Stand could accommodate any size storage bag commonly used in households. While the height should handle elongated bags, one possible modification would be telescoping legs for extra clearance. The design incorporates four rubber boots for stabilization and folds at the X pivot rod. The four clips slide along its respective top rail for optimal placement. This design could be extended to be large enough and sturdy enough to handle trash bags of various sizes and capacities.
